Bayern Munich formalized the hiring of Sadio Mane

Bayern Munich today made official the hiring of Senegalese striker Sadio Mané, from Liverpool in England, where he spent the last six seasons. According to reports, the German cast will pay 32 million euros for the player’s pass, although the figure can rise to 41 million euros if different variables are met.

“I am very happy to finally be at FC Bayern Munich. We had a lot of talks and from the beginning I felt the great interest of this great club. So I had no doubts from the beginning: this is the right time for this challenge. I want to achieve a lot of things with this club, also internationally. Even during my time in Salzburg, I followed a lot of FC Bayern games,” the 30-year-old forward said.

For his part, the general director of the German club, Oliver Kahn, expressed in a statement: “We are convinced that Sadio Mané will bring great joy to our fans in the coming years with his spectacular style of play. He is ambitious and wants to win more titles. With players like him, all big goals are possible at Bayern,” CEO Oliver Kahn said in a statement.

Regarding his last season in Liverpool, Mané played 51 official matches with 23 goals and 5 assists. In addition, he became champion of the African Cup with his team.

The striker made his professional debut at FC Metz in 2011. After two years with the French team, he was transferred to RB Salzburg, where he stayed for three seasons until he was sold to Southampton FC.

In mid-2016, Mané was acquired by Liverpool, a team in which he played a total of 269 games and scored 120 goals. In turn, among his most outstanding titles with the “Reds”, he won the Champions League, the Club World Cup and the European Super Cup in 2019.
